What is TechNet Guru Competition?
Each month the TechNet Wiki council organizes a contest of the best articles posted that month.
This is your chance to be announced as MICROSOFT TECHNOLOGY GURU OF THE MONTH!
One winner in each category will be selected each month for glory and adoration by the MSDN/TechNet Ninjas and community as a whole. Winners will be announced in dedicated blog post that will be published in Microsoft Wiki Ninjas blog, a tweet from the Wiki Ninjas Twitter account, links will be published at Microsoft TNWiki group on Facebook, and other acknowledgement from the community will follow.
Some of our biggest community voices and many MVPs have passed through these halls on their way to fame and fortune.
If you have already made a contribution in the forums or gallery or you published a nice blog, then you can simply convert it into a shared wiki article, reference the original post, and register the article for the TechNet Guru Competition. The articles must be written in June 2017 and must be in English. However, the original blog or forum content can be from before June.
Come and see who is making waves in all your favorite technologies.
Maybe it will be you!

Windows 10 creators edition woes
Hello,
Windows 10 is really getting worse on every upgrade ... With that out of the way my story and questions.
First off: update (anniversary update I guess) bricked my principal computer, endless boot loop (system thread exception not handled without any culprit). No repair worked, no uninstalling of drivers with dism. Inplace upgrade only works if you have a running OS (that's really useful!). So: clean install!
CPU: i57500, 16 GB, MSI Z170A M5, Samsung EVO 960 ssd, MSI GTX 970. Nothing special.
Windows 10 Pro (we need Pro nowadays to avoid fiddling in the registry, great!)
My gripes:
- Uninstalling Onedrive does not remove it from the explorer. Get it through your head MS: I don't want in my explorer!
- Quick Access is not removable. It's unusable as a replacement of libraries because you cannot name the links.
- Libraries still have no option to collapse levels ( you get Documents\Documents etc. ...). Have MS really used this? Also libraries have become second rate citizens, again a confusing change.
- Turning off the use of powershell for command shell does not do so for the 'Command Prompt here' entry on a folder in explorer, you need to edit the registry to get on old command shell entry.
- The settings have improved a bit, but it's still often a schizophrenic ping-pong between the old control-panel and the new settings. Removing it from the right-hand click on the start menu is a big error.
- Icons still have an insane wanderlust when screens go to sleep and come back. You would think this problem would have been solved by now (do we really need to use DesktopOk???).
- Changing the locations of something like 'Public Pictures' fails, I usually let this point to my NAS. No dice!!!!
- Some fonts are rendered in a fuzzy manner in some windows, why???
- Using Explorer, and ACL's is becoming more confusing than ever. Taking ownership of folders (e.g. Windows.Old in a backup copy of my bricked PC to remove it) takes forever, or hangs. Deleting files of an offline windows hangs or is really slow. Why?????
- TURN OFF NOTIFICATIONS FROM THE firewall DOES NOT WORK.... I have a hardware stateful firewall and I don't want the MS firewall. The idea of the firewall is that it is independent of the OS and also checks what the OS is doing ...
Really guys, instead of making a 3D paint (which has no business in an OS) so much other things could have been solved ....
End rant.

June 2017 TechNet Guru Competition is open! Read more on how you can win
Who can join the Competition?
Anyone who has basic knowledge and the desire to share the knowledge is welcome. Articles can appeal to beginners or discusse advanced topics. All you have to do is to add your article to TechNet Wiki from your own specialty category.
How can you win?
