Hello Nooshink1,

The following is recommended -

1. Update all drivers and the motherboard firmware to make sure everything is all up-to-date with the hardware and the OS-hardware interface.

2. Run complete hardware diagnostics.

3. If diagnostics is successful, and you're still getting the blue screen, run Blue Screen View (http://www.nirsoft.net/utils/bluescreenview_setup.exe) after installing it. This will show you which drivers or executables is causing the crash, and then you may need to downgrade that driver or uninstall it to see if it makes any difference.

Just doing the number 3 may give you results in the short run, however, keeping your system up-to-date with the all hardware drivers/firmware is highly recommended. Windows updates can also be helpful in many cases.

Power BI Team Planner View

Is it possible to get a resource Team Planner view from Power BI Desktop.

The Team Planner view is great in Porject Pro, so having that across all projects would be great.

It wouldn't need to show resource/tasks. but resource/project timephased.

You might not get exactly the same layout / details but you should be able to get most of the data in read only in to Power BI / Excel using the OData API or if on-prem querying the Reporting schema in the Project Web App database.

I need help!

I thought I had instALLED WINDOWS 10. i PURCHASED MY COMPUTER WITH 8.0 AND HATED IT. i WAS USE TO WINDOWS XP.

When I click on the start icon, it doesn't do anything . I also have a blue and yellow flashing icon on the bottom of the screen. Is that preventing me from getting the start key to activate. I would love to get windows 7 if possible.

Oslo Layout have a problem!!

I am using share point 2013 and my site layout is Oslo.

I want to use Web Part Connection and use Get Parameters From, so I was searching and see this link that show how to create Parameters :

Hi,

First of all, I want to suggest you to avoid modifying OOTB pages using SharePoint designer. It is not only you are exposing to future upgrade issue but also making the page unghosted.

Now, if I understand correctly you want to create connected ListView in default AllItems.aspx list view. If thats true, what you need to do is open default AllItems.aspx in browser in Edit Mode/Design Mode. There you will see the webpart and you can access the property including adding connected web part.

JOB FAIL SSIS

Guys,

I really need a help to fix my problem with Job, the situation is:

When execute the PACKAGE manually i don't get a error, but when is executed with a JOB.. So i get this error (follows down, please).
I've been already done somethings to try solve this, like for example: Save package with EcryptSentitiveWithPassword, Execute in 32 bits, execute through the DTExec.exe like 32 bits or 64 bits.. but the problem keeps happening..

Is there a reason you need to use SQL Server authentication? The first thing I'd try is to use domain authentication and bypass all the hassles of having to store security information in the package.

That's really not a reason to use SQL auth. If you're using domain authentication all you need to do when you move the package to production is make sure the job step is run under an account with the correct permissions. I've designed many ETL systems for data warehouses, LOB data movement, etc. with migrations through development, test and production and I always use domain authentication.

"Recent Places" icon appears in desktop

I was trying the "recent places" option in Windows Explorer when a "recent places" icon suddenly appears in the desktop. There's no delete option for it, even when I try to drop it in the recycle bin. However, when I personalize the desktop and disable and re-enable recycle bin icon, the "recent places" icon suddenly disappears.

Simply create a shortcut for "recent places" on your desktop. This will override the existing "recent places" icon. Then you can simply delete it. This can be accomplished by clicking the libraries icon, right clicking the "recent places" icon to the left of the window, and then clicking "send to" Desktop shortcut.

Open Computer and drag recent places to your Favorites in the sidebar. It should display create a link. Then follow Gabez instructions, and your problem will be solved.

I have tried all these things. None of them worked. I keep nothing on my desktop, so, for now, I just hid all desktop icons. Although, occasionally, I save something to the desktop when I know I will be deleting or moving it shortly, it's just there as something to get to quickly. I would love to have it taken off, but it just won't work. It's so annoying.

I recently had this as well. Not sure why, but it seems to have happened when I accidentally moved another icon in place of my recycle bin instead of into the bin. Removing the bin and then putting it back got rid of the recent places icon.

This quite ridiculous condition still exists years later in Windows 8. Pretty sad really. Clear recent places and you get a magic icon on your desktop. A desktop refresh does remove it.

WHY do I have to keep doing the refresh? I already am having problems with my arm from all the scrolling and right-clicking required by the MESSED UP Windows Explorer's habit of opening folders below the screen and then randomly moving to a different folder.

Now I have to do more right-clicking to get rid of a folder/icon/shortcut I don't want on my desktop?

I've used Windows for 2 decades without having tendon problems - now I've gotten them in 3 weeks of Windows 7.

The SSL web cert is for the MBAM web services and not for the SQL Server Transparent Data Encryption.

Windows 7 Backup Error 0x8078002A

I upgraded my main computer to Windows 7 Home Premium which has a C drive (500 GB) and a Raid 5 SATA array (2.7 TB) on drive D:. I tried to backup the install as an image on the D: drive and I get the following error code 0x8078002A and a comment about an I/O error and one of the backup files could not be created.

I plugged in a USB external hard drive in and it works.

This computer is part of a gigabit switched home network (the main file server), so I tried to back up one of the home computers (running W7 Professional) through the network onto a shared folder on drive D: and I get the same error. The backup gets 27% of the way through on both computers and then fails.

I have updated the Raid driver (I had to as part of the W7 install).

Any ideas or solutions on this one?

Secondly, can I copy the backup off the USB drive onto the D: drive and have a reliable backup, or will that corrupt the backup?

I get the same error code only in case of activating the box for creating an image for C (I am using an external disc via an USB connection for the back-up). Not activating this box allows normal back-up. I was not able to find a solution for this problem (image creation) in web. But I found a lot of some complaints. Maybe this is an unresolved problem?

I have a feeling this may be related to the default "Power Options". Shutting down drives, devices after some time, etc. So I am changing power plans and running the same utility for research on it.

I have this issue. Backing up creating a system disk of C: and E:. C: is a Solid State Disk. Backing up the image to a WD 3T USB3.0 notebook.

Tried turning off and deleting system restore points, disabled virus checkers, running check disk. All partitions by the way are NTFS.

I was having this same issue on Windows 7 Ultimate with a new Western Digital My Book Essential 3TB. I formatted the drive right after I got it with NTFS. After looking around, finding this thread, and then looking some more, I found a solution on the WD Knowledge Base that worked. It is answer ID 6618 and is titled Error: 0x8078002A occurs when backing up to a 2.5 or 3.0 TB drive in Windows 7 Backup and Restore.

Immediately after running the WD Quick Formatter tool and using the Factory Default configuration I attempted a backup with only the system image selected and it worked without error. I then ran another backup with the system image as well as some user data files selected and that, too, completed successfully.

FWIW, here are the results of running fsutil fsinfo ntfsinfo f: on my drive (which is loaded as F:)

However, is anyone aware if Microsoft is building a fix so that drives with 4K logical sector sizes are not an issue? This error is going to effect more people over time with the increasing number of 2.5 TB and larger hard drives on the market.

Have tried all means of undertaking a full back up in Windows 7 using an Omega 1TB and the same error message 0x8078002A using MS Backup. However by backing up separate files not exceeding 500 MB all found entirely satisfactory. Omega say they will advise me when the solution is resolved, but it is now almost two years and no answer has been forthcoming. Can I say that it is not possible to resolve this problem, which will get worse with the increase of large backup drives. Surely somebody must have an answer or must we all go back to a larger number of smaller backup hard drives.

I await with interest if a solution can be found.

Identical experience.

I don't know if this is relevant but some external drives & Windows 7 x64 SP1 backup don't seem to work well together:

I use also an 'old' Iomega "Prestige" 1TB model LPHD-UP3 connected by USB3 to fast recent (end 2011) laptop with W7 SP1 x64 with all KBs (this Vaio laptop works like a dream).

Windows BU failed three times (I tried with & without external HD cache). So this looks like a lack lustre "Prestige" solution.

Yesterday, I just saved 100 GB of data from Laptop to this external drive (explorer copy/paste) and it went fine (64MB/s average throughput). I looked at the characterisics of this external drive with HD Tune Pro (smart etc.) and HD drive seemed OK. Chckdsk /f /x ran on it with no problem found.

So, one would tend to infer that the internal drive in this external box is probably OK.

However, Iomega "added value" between the hard drive & my laptop (I mean the hardware component + Iomega software to run the usb3 to sata III interface) may be a technical disaster (product ref p/n 31922900 s/n GSAB136901) in this specific instance, as I am not the only one who suffers damages due perhaps to this non-working product as a Windows backup external solution.

I have also a similar Raidsonic ICY Box ib-273stu3-b external HD enclosure but I have lent it to a kid to restore his clugged & corrupted W7 OS on his laptop this week at his boarding school so I will try it next week with WS BU to circumvent the issue. I know it works well with AHTI but I don't remember with WS BU. NB: I am not an immoderate fan of AHTI. It let me down at restore time twice on a complex config and I could recover thanks to another WS BU file ("belts & braces" practice). However, here, I just mention it worked.

I have also another similar but heavier multi-purposes Icy Box IB-120CL-U3 that I could use for tests but I have to change desk & room and I feel lazy today. Next week hopefully.

After the first failure yesterday, I used Acronis True Image Home also for same OS full image to the network NAS. It took 2 hours last night on a 100 Mb/s ethernet connection for 60GB but at least it finished OK and this machine is protected if its HD crashes (all user data is saved separately on the fly (real time) with Goodsync to a NAS in RAID1 + 6 periodic AHTI incremental images for "belt & braces").

As I am pig headed, I tried WS Backup again twice today. Same failures so I am satisfied the behaviour of this set is consistent!

I post error events logs & screen capture picture in appendix, hoping more knowledgeable people can do something with it or learn from the incident for themselves.

Ideas to solve welcomed.

Needless to repeat that Back-Ups can be CRITICAL for all of us, so failures to BU or to Restore are not be looked at lightly.

ADFS - wrong user getting authenticated

Hi,We have a simple setup - a single ADFS server running on Server 2012 authenticating users to Office 365. We are not using ADFS proxies, but traffic does pass through a reverse proxy.

When a userA logs in, they sometimes get logged in as userB - if they change a document in SharePoint, it shows as userB and they receive userB permissions. Logging off/on to Office365 solves the problem (they login successfully as userA)

There is no pattern about which user gets logged in as which user. I have a suspicion it may be because two users login at the same time, but I can't prove this and we can't reproduce it on demand.

Generally the user doesn't notice immediately after login so it's hard to search in eventvwr on the ADFS server.

What is the likely cause and how should I troubleshoot this? Enable debug logging on the ADFS server? Clearly this is a pretty serious problem.

Any help appreciated.

For the ones who has this.

It's because of the reference vault in the control panel on the clients pc. Probably they singed in with a different account ones (maybe for testing or something) and saved the references. Delete them.

Computer Configurations GPO not working

I have read most of the Already asked questions and still didn't get an answer.

My user GPO's works 100% but none of my Computer GPO configurations seem to pull through toward the end users.

Are you applying the GPOs on a OU containing computer objects? You can use the Resultant set of policies console (RSOP.msc) or GPRESULT command to see what is applying or not. Also, using the GPMC you can use "Group policy results".

Remember : to apply a GPO an OU is needed. The default computer location is a container, not an OU. For this reason if you don't move computer object from their original location you have to apply the GPOs at root domain level.

Are you using WMI filtering and security filtering on the same GPO? Perhaps you have to set security filtering to authenticated users and use Loopback processing.

Under Security Filtering are you giving access to "Authenticated Users" or one of the other domain groups such as Domain Users or a custom user group you created?

Computer policies need the computer object to have security rights to the GPO, Authenticated Users includes computer objects for granting permissions but Domain Users and custom groups do not.

I thought a computer config gpo just needed to be linked to a computer ou, and for security filtering, I just had Domain Computers. Nothing worked and didnt know why. I added "Authenticated Users" to the security filters and it started to work. I still know really know why, but its working, thanks for helping me got to the answer.

DPM can now backup Exchange 2016

Hi,

We are happy to announce support for Exchange 2016 Backup & Recovery using DPM 2012 R2 UR9. There is no change in user experience so existing customers can upgrade to Exchange 2016 and use DPM for protection in the same way as they used it for Exchange 2010 or Exchange 2013.

DPM can backup following Exchange configurations:

1. Standalone Exchange Server

2. Exchange DAG, including both the configurations:

IP based DAG
IP-less DAG (DAG without a cluster administrative Access Point)

Anniversay Update hangs

What do I need to do to install the Anniversary update? I have tried two times and each time it hangs my computer. I have allowed the process to go for 4 hours and nothing? Is there a "fix" I need to do prior to attempting the update again?

Seriously, how is anyone supposed to help you out here? What interview? Why? If you are asking us to do your homework for you so you can try and con someone into thinking you understand FIM and get a job you don't deserve then I respectively suggest you've come to the wrong place.

I would also add that if you are asking so you might GIVE the interview to prospective employees, then you really need to learn the product and why it is useful (Do some homework) before asking us. You would clearly not be in a position to understand if that interviewee knows anything regardless of any questions/answers we posted.
