Windows firewall still hackable, Right !
What is the benefit of the windows firewall althaugh i let it turned on, but it have no thing to do..
when the firewall blocking dialogue appear about blocking specific program, that prgram already connected
So why that strangely firewall asking me, this plus that some programs able to deny its blocking..
Even its dialogue not clearly designed, (like if you uncheck all network types, then no key available in the dialogue but just cancel) that should mean that program not allowed to access in any networks,
but the truth is that it's already connected while you looking on the pretty firewall dialogue
Now one qusetion to talk about, why we still use windows firewall..

Hi Skylooker,
Bypassing a firewall isn't really something that can be done. All traffic that goes through it is filtered according to the configured rules. However, a firewall only does what it is told - a misconfigured or out of date firewall might allow an attack through.
The Windows firewall is designed to use the firewall rule to limit he computer to send traffic to, or receive traffic from, programs, system services, computers, or users. You can customize firewall setting and configure exceptions by accessing Windows Firewall in the Control Panel. It allows you to add ports to manually allow incoming traffic from other networks and prevent malicious attack on your network.
Please check the link below about Windows Firewall: securing your Windows Firewall.

Hi Skylooker,
Thank you for your reply and clarification.
I understand what you mean. I'm afraid that it is by design about Windows Firewall setting.
The Windows Firewall prompt may be similar to the UAC prompt. It always refer to Windows security warning. Firewalls have blocked some of the functionality of this program. But we don't know how the Firewall prevent it. Then the program could connect online.
As far as I know, If this inquiry box appears in the course of the Internet, there are two possibilities:
- The software installed on your computer tries to access the network to check if the software has updated information (in the state of automatic updating).
- A program in the network that tries to install it on your computer. In this case, if you are unsure, click "Disagree".
Hope it will be helpful to you

It is nice to know that Microsoft is working on its philosophy.
For this update, have you created a walk-thru for Deployment part? If not, are you planning to?
I've checked out screen shots for Deployment, they don't tell too much (IMHO, of course). Would it be possible to specify a target server for BizTalk group and the rest would be picked up and packaged automatically for deployment?

We got a nasty supprise when installing this into our test environment. There is a dependency to Visual Studio 2015.
If you do not have that installed, your BizTalk setup will be broken. We could not fix it and had to start environment setup from scratch. MS support could not help us this time.

Can we downgrade IE from 11 to IE 9 in windows 10?
HI,
Need to downgrade IE in windows 10.
Reply:
Hi Satish 2561.
Internet Explorer 11 is the only version of IE that will work on Windows 10: you can't downgrade IE or install another IE version.
If you are having problems with viewing a website, try compatibility view: you can read more about this IE feature at http://windows.microsoft.com/en-gb/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view#ie=ie-11.
You can emulate IE10 using IE11 by pressing F12 (Developer Tools) then selecting Emulation and the IE version you want to emulate. Remember that this setting is not persistent: it will only emulate while Developer Tools remains open.
Bye.

It's said, if a site doesn't seem quite right in Edge one has available Open with Internet Explorer... like that will save the day. Ergo, one would expect "Or use IE". I just encountered a (major) site that would not work right or display properly in IE BUT, was/is fine & dandy in Edge. Go figure LOL.

Persistent error 0x80246002 from Windows Update
I was seeing persistent error 0x80246002 from Windows Update on Windows Server 2016. I saw it on both a bare metal installation and when running inside a Hyper-V VM. Internet searches turned up the usual Windows Update troubleshooting advice, which didn't help.
It turns out that the problem was related to having a proxy server in between me and the public Internet. I wanted to post this in case anybody else runs into the same problem.
I had Internet Explorer configured to use a configuration script (PAC file) to define the proxy settings. This worked fine for IE and other software that accessed the web. It also appeared to work for Windows Update, in that it looked like updates were being downloaded (they just failed to install). I ran netstat while Windows Update was running, and saw connections to the proxy. For whatever reason, that wasn't enough.
I solved the problem by defining the exact proxy server using netsh...
netsh winhttp set proxy proxy-server-fqdn:port
This command was suggested by KB900935. Most of that article relates to old/obsolete versions of Windows, but the netsh command still works. (I'm sure there's a PowersHell way to do the same thing; that is left as an exercise for the reader.)

zombie messages in Sequential Convoy
Hello All,
I have a sequential convoy orchestration which inserts the message in a SQL table and If that message is already present then it terminates the flow. now this is working fine if I process 1 message at a time but when I drop 4-5 or multiple messages my orchestration is getting suspended with the error " The instance completed without consuming all of its messages. The instances and its unconsumed messages have been suspended."
Now all the 4-5 messages were picked up by BizTalk but even as only 1 of them was a duplicate but the others also didn't process.
Reply:
Hello,
You are getting zombie message when you orchestration still in memory and already in termination state.
Try in you listen shape place Delay shape first on left and receive on right. Also try not to terminate, but instead correlate by current date as correlation ID. That will limit possibilities of Zombie

I already have a Listen shape with a Receive and a Delay shape as seen in the screenshot. Now in the call orchestration I am calling a separate orchestration which has all the code to check for duplicates and other Business logics.

Hi Abhinav,
After you receive a message original message or in Listen shape your CallOrchestration is taking too long for processing. Try to simplify the process and process incoming messages in separate process.

Yes that we can know but even if we send the message via a send port the remaining flow of the orchestration would still continue which we don't want.
You need to read article by BT expert Leonid Galelin. He explained the problem with orchestration suspend/terminate. TO solve the solution you need to redesign it and separate processing flows.

Yes - You will need to create a contact object in FIM Sync and a contact resource in FIM Service, add the appropriate attributes and set up sync rules between the Sync service and Portal.
The most often missed items are..
- understanding how attributes, resources and bindings work together in the Portal
- refreshing the FIM MA schema after adding the resource and attributes to the FIM portal
- changing the resource filter so that Contacts show up as a mappable resource in the FIM MA
- Selecting the 'show all' attributes and selecting them in the FIM MA
- creating sets and MPR's that give the sync service (and others as needed - at least admins) rights to CRUD your contacts

Microsoft drops support for original release version of Windows 10
As promised in mid-April, Microsoft is ending support for the original release version of Windows 10 as of today, May 9. The release in question is version 1507, which was the first Windows 10 release to make its way to the public upon launch of the OS in 2015.
If you happen to still be running version 1507, Microsoft notes in a support document that you will no longer receive security and quality updates after today. And while 1507 will continue to run, you'll be leaving yourself wide open to viruses and other security issues. The simple solution is to update to the latest version of Windows 10, the Creators Update, which will continue to be supported for 18 months after its release.
Performance Counter for Windows Server 2012 R2 and SQL Server 2012 Monitoring
I am trying to put together a list of Windows 2012 R2 and SQL Server 2012 performance counters and thresholds that will provide an overall view of the health and performance.
I have used the PAL tool, but I'm looking for something with a more narrow scope.
I have the following for SQL Server:
SQLServer: Buffer Manager: Buffer cache hit ratio - 100
SQLServer: Buffer Manager: Page life expectancy - > 300 sec
SQLServer: SQL Statistics: Batch Requests/Sec
SQLServer: SQL Statistics: SQL Compilations/Sec - < 10% Batch Requests
SQLServer: SQL Statistics: SQL Re-Compilations/Sec - < 10% SQL Compilations/Sec
SQLServer: General Statistics: User Connections
SQLServer: Locks: Lock Waits / Sec: _Total - 0
SQLServer: Access Methods: Page Splits / Sec - < 20% Batch Requests
SQLServer: General Statistic: Processes Block - 0
SQLServer: Buffer Manager: Checkpoint Pages / Sec - should not rise over time
The following I have for OS:
PhysicalDisk/%idle time – > ~%60
PhysicalDisk/Avg. Disk sec/Read - < ~20ms
PhysicalDisk/Avg. Disk sec/Write - < ~20ms
PhysicalDisk/Current disk queue length - < 2
Memory\Available Mbytes - > 10% of memory should be free and available
\Memory\Pages/sec - < 1000
Paging File\%Usage - < %10
Network Interface(*)\Bytes Total/sec - < 40%
Network Interface(*)\Output Queue Length - 0
Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Secure Communication in CM CB environment
Hi
We completed new CM CB installation. Followed PKI article "https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/plan-design/network/pki-certificate-requirements" and issued certificates as mentioned below
-> All client systems are configured / auto enrolled with V2 Workstation Authentication certificate from Enterprise CA (Issued V2 certificate since CM doesn't support V3 certificates)
-> Single CM server has both Web server & Workstation authentication certificates
During CM installation / Client Computer communication we selected "configure communication method on each site system role" and enabled "Clients will use HTTPS when they have valid PKI and HTTPS enabled site roles available". Also with Management & Distribution point we selected HTTP for client connection.
With SUP role we selected ports 8530 & 8531 for client communications
We tested all functionalities with a few test PCs and it looks fine. Before proceeding to push agents to all end users systems in production we want to make secured communication enabled, so we modified Client Computer Communication in System Properties to HTTPS. Do we need to make any changes with Ports tab (HTTP & HTTPS are enabled here) and also any changes to be done for SUP?
Thanks in advance

Dublicate MAC Adress Features
Hi
We want to stage multiple Surface with one Docking. referencing to the following article we want to use the "Dublicate MAC Adress" Feature:
https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/sccm/core/clients/manage/manage-clients
First, I configured the MAC Adress of the Dock in the Hierarchy as Dublicate MAC.
I've registered two Surfaces with their different BIOS GUID. After I started a staging process with the first one. PXE works fine and Deployment was successfully.
I've changed the Dock on the second Surface. But the PXE boot has skipped.
Log: The PXE Service Point intructed device to boot normally since it has no PXE deployment assigned.
After "Clear Required PXE Deployments" on the first Device, the PXE works fine:
The PXE Service Point instructed the device to boot to the bootimage P0100005 based on deployment P0120050.
Device MAC Address:BC:83:85:F4:7C:14 SMBIOS GUID:C81CD8CE-4E53-21CC-2485-0C34462A73EE.
But in this Point I'm confused. In my consideration the MAC Adress has to been ignored and just the GUID has to be checked.
On every PXE boot with this Dock I've also DuplicateMACAddress="0" in SMSPXE.log. But this MAC is registred als "known dublicate". Do I have to restart any Service? WDS for example?
What's your experience with this Feature? has anyone an "up-and-running" Configuration?
Thanks in advance!
Daniel

It sounds like you may have a very serious malware infection, possibly a rootkit. I recommend you run these tools
TDSS Killer
http://support.kaspersky.com/viruses/disinfection/5350#block1
AdwCleaner
https://toolslib.net/downloads/viewdownload/1-adwcleaner/
When downloading and installing this be sure to get the free version. Say No
to any free trial offers or automatic updating during setup to keep the free version functional.
Malwarebytes

I ran both scans only AdwCleaner found anything. It found "Bitberry" and deleted all issues.

What I couldn't fit in my previous post was that I didn't pay attention in 2014 after reinstalling windows. But when I started this hunt about three weeks ago I noticed that this same issue started immediately after the install. So when I installed this time I was watching and before I could connect to anything this was happening again. I conclude that this issue is on my hidden windows partition and on the recovery disks that I made. I have used a paid version of Norton and several free antivirus programs like AVG, BitDefender, Charity, Malwarebytes, and none have found anything. I bought my computer from BestBuy and it came installed with the BestBuy app. The first thing I did was uninstall it. Six years later and I am finding Best Buy in the user profile I created(and now can't access for some reason) I found in event viewer an interesting that I will post next because there is no room on this one. I have since gone through the registry and removed all references to Best Buy and where ever I find it in folders I delete it. Right now my Host process for windows services(netsvcs) is running at 1,109,020K. I can't get windows updates. I used the update fixer from the microsoft site so I don't have an update history and when it looks for updates it looks and doesn't stop. The progress bar is moving but nothing is happening. In fact the windows update process is only running at 2,284K. Way down the list. The computer says its looking but it isn't using the process.

I uninstalled the pc app in 2011.

It appears that the 'Best Buy pc app.exe' is still loading despite the uninstall. I suggest you use Autoruns to try to find and disable it.
Autoruns for Windows v13.7

With regard to the Windows update problem see:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_7-update/windows-7-update-solution/f39a65fa-9d10-42e7-9bc0-7f5096b36d0c
If you should want to reinstall Windows in the future, you might consider doing a clean install using a standard media rather than the hidden partition with the Best Buy crap, though you might have to download device drivers. You can get a clean installation media here -

How to bind image with item scroller from database kinecttemplate?
Deploying JS/CSS to hive w/o farm solution
I'd have a question on provisioning files (CSS & JavaScript) into a custom folder inside the hive (C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Web Server Extensions\15\TEMPLATE\LAYOUTS\custom).
We like to avoid using a farm solution for the sole purpose of copying new versions of the files into the above location; we are therefore thinking of an installation routine outside of SharePoint to do the copying of those files instead of a farm solution. This routine would be run by an administrator directly on the front end server.
Would there be any major concerns about this approach? Is there anything we should be wary of?

Thanks for your reply!
In our case we have just one front end server and the application that copies the two files takes them from the repository directly and creates a version file at the same location. So in this concern we'd be covered.
Apart of that, any other concerns?

Reply:
hello,
technically it may work, but concern the following issues which are solved by standard Install-SPSolution/Update-SPSolution PowerShell cmdlets which install farm solutions:
- copying of all files in different places (layouts, controltemplates, features, resources) based on Sharepoint mapped folders configuration in VS solution
- installation of dlls in the GAC
- registration of types as safe in web.configs
- simultaneous update of all front-end servers in the farm
- correct update of existing files by Update-SPSolution
If you will use custom deployment process you will need to handle all these things manually.

Thanks a lot,
In our case we deal with 1 JavaScript file and 1 CSS file in the same folder.. nothing more.
To use a farm solution just for that not needing the list of actions you indicated seems like nuking the knat ;)

Thanks, yes, that's our second option indeed.
The only issue we have here is that by so doing we don't get the "?rev=34r3t54t" extention we'd get when using hive files. That is, an application pool recycle would not "force" browsers to get the new version.
Any ideas how to overcome this problem?
PS: We do have BLOB cache turned on.

ODBC Coonection - cannot connect to server
Hi
Ihere are a few ODBC connections on the Sharepoint I use and I have tried to open them directly but keep geeting a message that "cannot connect to the server" - not a very informative message.
I am able to connect to the SP directly , export files to Excel ok and used to be able to 'open' ODBC files directly until recently.
When this issue occured 2-3 weeks I re-insattled Office 2013 and that seemed to make it go away for while. It has occurred again and I can't believe I have to resinstall 2013 again - i am not convinced that was the fault in the first place.
The error is not very helpful - but I am rathe stumped at present and can't think what to try next.
Any suggestions or ideas would be most welcome.
many thanks
Peter
