How to Create the MSI package for Dragon 13 professional software?

How to Create the MSI package for Dragon 13 professional software application? 

I have Setup file for the Dragon 13 professional software.

I have licence key for that application.

I can ran this application without an error, but not able to create the MSI package for that application.

I have to build the MSI package, in that i have to include the licence key and the setup file, then i have build the MSI package.

If the end user ran this application it wont ask any licence key, just need to click the application and finish it..

Can you please help me to resolve the issue. If any proper procedure or solution. please do let me know.

It would help to refine this symptom description.  E.g. what exactly are you doing and what are you seeing?  Try using Narrator to get more clues.  Some apparently can see both the Start Menu and the Search box as soon as they start Narrator.  In my case I had to use it to access features that were not being shown on my screen.  Once that had happened a few times it was almost as if some versions of it had been cached and then I did not need Narrator to let me actually see them.  YMMV.

Admin shares on a Windows 2008 R2 server not accessable from Primary Domain controller

When trying to connect to one of my member server from the primary domain controller that it is a member of, I cannot access the administrative shares. EX: \\server\C$ or \\Server\F$. I am able to access all other shares from the same domain controller and am able to access the admin shares from other servers.

The error I get is: Windows cannot access \\server\c$ (in the details section if you click the down arrow it show error code: 0x80070043 The network name cannot be found.

Seems strange to me that the admin shares are accesible from servers other than the primary domain controller and all other shares are accessible to that same DC. I have taken the server off the domain and rejoined, disconnected everyone from the share manually and cannot for the life of me figure this out. I need to get this working to be able to use DFS over my WAN. Please let me know if anyone has dealt with this issue and has found a way to resolve it.

Thanx for your time but that is the wrong issue. I can access general shares on the server. The only thing I can't do is open ADMINISTRATIVE shares from my primary domain controller to my member server (\\memberserver\c$, etc.) I can access public shares just fine. Just not admin shares to the local drives.

Hi,

What's the operation system on the PDC and other servers which can access the admin shares? Also whether you tested with other domain controller?

If the PDC is Windows 2008 or 2008 R2 but not the others, please test to disable UAC and see if it is the cause. If so, test to add Administrator account to a new group and share the root drive to the new group as a work around if UAC need to be open.

Thanks so much for both of your time. I figured out the issue through process of elimination of network appliances between WAN links and monitoring traffic destination progress. I found SMB traffic port 445 not reaching its destination but port 139 traffic going through fine. 445 is used for admin shares and 139 is used for other shares. I found the block at our packet local packet shapers. We have packet prioritization at every site and after making changes that allow port 445 throughput between sites on every appliance and rebooted them, the problem was resolved and I was able to access admin shares globally and was able to turn on DFSR.

You may want to switch to Slow Track & wait this one out IF you have an AMD GPU... Edge may crash & freeze.  Windows is working w/ AMD to be able to rectify the matter w/ an update anon.  OR hold off on using Edge, for the time being.

Install completed in 45 mins, BTW.

Not only some huge & good work in the Start menu... 

Another thing I've noticed is a good bit of good work in Edge.  One item is Rt Clk functions for Favorites Bars sites.  There's a number of little things which become noticeable as one moves about some;  can be seen in icons, graphics, consistency.

Anyway, Insider Hub has all the juicy gossip regarding this Build.  Be sure to give that a look-see.

The transparency bit is ok but, even in this Build, still, that "Frosted Glass" (blurred) idea instead of plain transparency.

Take a step back and try to receive the data from the Stored Procedure using a WCF-SQL Adapter, and Passthrou Pipelines for both your Receive and Send Port.

After you get a sample XML document of what the SP and Adapter is returning to BizTalk, examine the XML and make sure that it is what you expect. 

Normally receving XML from SQL Server in any other way than "for xml", is not a good idea, since it will create inline XML.

Are you trying to install the driver on 32BIT OS? if yes, make sure the print driver is also a 32BIT file.

How to Enable WD Icon

Build 10122

Some people wanted the Windows Defender icon that leads to its Control Window.  By default it is not in Applications nor Show hidden icons (Taskbar).

> Settings > Update and Security > Windows Defender*.  Scroll down to Use Windows Defender, click it.  The familiar WD window appears... whether minimised or closed its icon will now be in the Show hidden icons.

This is an old thread, but I wanted to say that Corel Painter Essentials 4 does run on Windows 7 Build 7100, when the program is set to run under XP SP3 Compatibility mode. I use Painter Essentials 4.0.036, which came bundled with my Wacom tablet. Before tying the compatiblity mode, Painter would load part way and lock up.

I'm having the same trouble w/ 7100 64bit and painter essentials. It gets to the splash screen, loads half the workspace, then locks up.
I've tried compatibility mode xpsp2 through vista sp2.
I've also installed it as an administrator, and run it as administrator.

I am using the Windows RC7 candidate (32 bit) with a Wacom Bamboo Fun. The Corel Painter Essentials 4 (4.0.0.36) that was included with the Bamboo appeared to hang at the splash screen. However, if it was left long eough (2 hours!), the program would eventually become available.

The issue disappeared by clicking on the application start icon & changing the compatibility properties to Win XP SP3.

I am having the same problem with Windows 7 RC (64 bit). The Corel Painter Essentials 4 (4.0.0.50) that was included with LEXAR JumpDrive also worked one time with Windows XP sp2 compatibility, then it hangs at the Flash screen  :(.

 

However it was left long enough ( 45 mins!), the program would eventually become available. Strange !!!! :O. 

Please tell Microsoft about it !!! :I

The issue do not disappear what ever I do to change it's compatibility. :(

I  have gone through this battle with win7 (64bit RC) and corel painter essentials 4.  My experience is that putting the program into compatibility mode is not a permanent fix.  One or two other problems remain: 1) Certain antivirus programs can unnecessarily delay the start of the program.  I have Norton 360, and put it on the exclusion list take care of this problem.  2)  More devastating, the program incorrectly searches the whole partition it is installed on for color profiles directories.  This is really bad if there are a lot of files on the CPE program partition.   This also explains why people report variable lengths of time before the program starts up.  There is a fix for this.  Create an empty "Color Profiles" folder in the "resources" folder <[install partition] :\Corel\Corel Painter Essentials 4\Resources>

Thank you SO much, Craig! :D This fix was so simple! I'm 15 and thanks to you, I was finally able to figure out why Corel Painter Essentials 4 wouldn't run on my Windows 7 computer. I wasn't fond of compatibility modes, and the other posts about "having too much memory" didn't really help. At all. Anyways, I was hoping to find some way of fixing this problem (so I could use this program with my Wacom Tablet CTE-450) and you delivered!

I feel stupid. I got corel painter essentials with my wacom tablet and I experience all these problems. But I have win XP svp 3, NOT windows 7. I added a new folder in my resources folder called "Color Profiles". Its just an empty folder. I restarted my computer and I am still having the same problem!!!

I agree with everyone else.  It's almost four years after Craig's post and it still rings true.  I couldn't get CPE to fully load without freezing and this fix worked.  I loaded the folder, opened the application and BAM! it worked.  It opened in seconds.

Thank you, Craig.  I'm using Windows 8.1 (yes, I know this is a Windows 7 forum...but...), and though I'd had problems in the past, the program seemed to 'fix' itself eventually.  Just yesterday, though, I tried starting up, and the splash-screen lockup happened.  Frustrated, I did a search, and found this forum.  I don't really know much about memory use, etc, but creating an empty directory seemed harmless.  Voila - worked like a charm.  I agree with the follow-up comments:  Craig for IT Emperor!

I opened the file location, clicked on properties and then clicked on the compatibility tab and ran the compatibility trouble shooter.  I let the program decide which one to choose and then it had me test to be sure it worked and then it had started working.  Then I was given the option to save those settings which I did and now it is working fine. I have used this on my Dell with Windows XP, until it broke down on me, then my laptop with Windows 7 and now that I bought a laptop with Windows 8.1 I just installed in on here. :)  Hope you all get it working using the method I used.

When running in Windows 7 (32 bit) with the 4.3 patch added

1) Adjust the corel painter essentials.exe file to run in XP SP3 compatibility mode ... right click on corel painter essentials.exe , select properties,  select comparability....

2) Inside the Resources folder, add an empty folder named "Color Profiles"

...This addition is the kicker  aka the magic smoke that does the trick.

I am unsure of how this differs if running W7 64 bit.

We have a IBM eServer X series 236 running Windows sever 2003 standard. We have an EXP400 with 13 drives as part of a Raid Array connected to a dual channel SCSI card. This past weekend the SCSI channel 0 went bad, the drives do not show up and they all have amber lights on them.

We moved the SCSI cable to Channel 1 and the drive lights went green and all of them looked normal but when we restarted the sever we received the message the "drives are not responding or they are in a different location".

How do we reconfigure the SCSI card from channel 0 to channel 1 so that the drives can be found?

Initial update................

10122 installed. Took about 3 hours and 10 minutes from downloading to finishing installing.

Near the end, notice some strange, perhaps funny, notifications......

1. Just a few more tweaks

2. Unfortunately it's taking longer than usual.

I never saw those 2 until this build.

Initial assessment  : everything is working fine except Cortana. It's not enabled and can't find way to enable it. Region is set at United States, language is set as English (United States).

BCP Export and format errors "Copy direction must be either 'in', 'out' or 'format'."

I am trying to export a blob to a data file using SQL Server Express 2012 and am running into troubles. They are frustrating errors because they don't seem to be very specific. And yes I have enabled xp_CmdShell.

This is what I have to create the format file, but I'm unsure if it is completely necessary (it seems to be). It will execute, but says "An error occurred while processing the command line." And the file is not generated. I have not been able to find a reason why yet. Its there anything noticeably wrong with the commands?

This is the actual export command, it doesn't like "QUERYOUT", and returns the same error whether I use QUERYOUT or OUT. I'm not sure of the reason yet.

If I understand your post correctly, you have line breaks in what you send to xp_cmdshell. That does not fly. On the Windows (DOS) command line, end of line means end of the command. A command cannot span multiple lines.

It may be better to write a CLR stored procedure to write the file to disk. You have to work with certificates since this requires an assembly with elevated permissions, but you don't need to deal with the command-line or BCP.

Question about Outlook 2013 Today (Blank/Empty Outlook Today)

Hello,

I have a 64 bit Outlook 2013 Professional Plus running on v15.0.4551.1511 of Outlook.exe and v15.0.4551.1007 of MSO.DLL.

The OS is a 64 Bit windows 8.1 professional edition

The problem here is that i get a blank Outlook Today screen. I do have some tasks and events set for today.. i definitely have mails today. How do i get this to work ?

Difference between Sync and Status for WSUS Clients

I'm working through some troubleshooting and am trying to find when the last time a client interacted with a WSUS server. I am using powershell to do this and am wondering what the difference is between the status variables named 'LastReportedStatusTime' and 'LastSyncTime'.

Where the head-scratching comes in is when I see a client with the following data:

LastReportedStatusTime = 2/24/2015 3:30  LastSyncTime = 5/20/2015 15:22  LastSyncResult = Suceeded

Can someone clarify this for me?
