Infopath 2007 Data Connections in 2010 - Bulk Change
Hi Expert
I am migrating infopath forms 2007 to 2010.
Is there a way to change all the connection files in one go, I mean in bulk ?
Other wise I would have to download all files and then change it manually one by one.

MMC Crashes when to launch Hyper-V, and other MMC add-ons after applying .NET Patches
I applied about 6 .NET Framework Patches on 6/17/2012 and now I am unable to open the Hyper-V Management Console, Components, Computer Management. If I just run MMC.EXE from Windows\System32 it at least launches. I uninstalled the patches but the problem stil exists. The exact errors are below:

I'm in similar situation. We updated the patches last weekend and MMC does not open up when we are trying to open Server Manager but other machines who has similar patches are working fine. I guess the patches might not have installed properly. Let me repair the updates and will try.
Can you share the solution if you have fixed it already.

Could you share the specific KB updates pertaining to Microsoft .NET Framework 4 Client Profile as I applied some patches which resulted in the MMC and the application crashes. To make matters worse.. IE 9 also started crashing!!
I am assuming these are the ones which need to be repaired / re-installed
1. Microsoft Visual C++ 2010 x64 Redistributable - 10.0.30319
2. Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 Shell (Isolated) - ENU - 10.0.40219

I've got this same issue on several servers, and I can also confirm that uninstalling and reinstalling KB2686831, then rebooting will fix the issue with the MMC.
Is there a way to restore the MMC without the reboot? I notice that this hotfix is a security hotfix for .NET Framework 3.5.1. Is there a service (or series of services) that can be bounced (or another series of actions) to restore the MMC functionality?

Thanks for your time and sharing. It's really good news that the Exchange server could be integrated with Windows Server 2012 Essentials.
Since there are more options for us toward the email solution, are there any limitations towards the On-Premise Exchange servers?
As we know, in the previous version of Small Business Server 2011 Standard, the Exchange server is installed on the same box which plays a DC role, so some excellent features for Exchange server 2010 are limited. For example, CAS array and Database Availability Group for Exchange server 2010 could not be setup in SBS 2011 Standard.
So question is coming, do these limitations still exist in Windows Server 2012 Essentials? It's really a meaningful question, because high availability is always a vital part in business impact.

MDT 2012 app install fails during os task sequence
Receiving error code 1632 when trying to install applications with os install task sequence. However if I run lite touch after install and install apps with custom task sequence all is well. Which logs should i be looking at to find the problem. I have created new standard task sequences but the problem still exist. Please help.

High CPU usage by DPC/IR when downloading via Wi-Fi - W7
this has been on-going for years now, the problem persists in Windows 8 Beta too...
PROBLEM:
if your downloading via Wi-Fi on a Windows 7 PC or Laptop there is massive amounts of DPC/IR CPU usage (20-40% depending on CPU and Speed of download)
this happens on EVERY windows 7 laptop or PC I have tested, cant even watch a video while downloading at 1.6MB/s because my 3Ghz CPU can not handle it - I have used something on laptop last year or year before and found it was the NDIS.SYS driver
as I have been able to replicate this on a few computers it shows its most probably a problem within Windows 7 - I cant recall but Im sure I tested it in Vista too and the problem was obvious in that version too - and like I say I tested a copy of Windows 8 Beta/RC and it still had the same problem
Downloading via LAN has the issue too but not as bad, I was getting 5% DPC/IR when downloading at 1.8MB/s on a laptop with 1.8Ghz Dual-Core Turion - but Wi-Fi on the same laptop downloading at 1.8MB/s hit 40% CPU for DPC/IR
why does this happen?

I too have this identical issue
I could not get machines to conenct with server/connect, an Unknown error, and MS's only solution was a dead end. So i joined as one should join machines to a domain, Properties, Change Domain
All of the my users are gone. All of the Addins are gone. Only the server is present in the Computers and Backup area.
There is next to no support for this

Make the Outlook 2010 No Subject Warning Optional !
It appears that the new "feature" in Outlook 2010 that sticks an annoying prompt in the users' faces when they attempt to send an email without a subject CAN'T BE DISABLED! Wow, that was a BRILLIANT IDEA !!
There will be a mutiny at my company when we roll this out. This "feature" does absolutely NOTHING to mitigate spam or improve security, it just one more annoying thing to click through. If some organizations desire this option, so be it, but why does MS feel the need to force it upon everyone? Decisions like this should be made by individual companies, not MS.
Here's one customer requesting that this be made OPTIONAL in the next service pack. Gimme a break guys.

You're right, it does nothing to mitigate spam or improve security, but it does improve "netiquette", and shows courtesy and consideration for others and their time.
Having a subject line makes your emails more meaningful, makes it easier for recipients to decide which emails to read first (prioritisation) and if they wish to use rules to organise inbound emails based on subject. Forcing your recipients to read every email "just in case" shows a total lack of respect for their tie and how busy they might be.
Allowing someone to make an almost instant decision whether yor email is important enough to be read and dealt with now, or whether it can wait until they have finished some other activity is simple politeness, as far as I can see.
Making it easier for people to send emails with no subject (and thereby encouraging this bad habit) also means that you might as well turn off Conversation View by policy, since it will quickly become useless if every second email sent or received has the same (blank) subject.
So if you *really* want to do this, you can prevent the warning being displayed using VBA. This page has some code to do it, don't be put off by the German in the URL, the page is in English:

I've been on the net since 1995 and understand all about netiquette. I even use spell check, lol. But seriously, in our organization, and I suspect many others, email is used almost like IM. Subjects are used frequently, but there's plenty of times it's just not needed/wanted, and it seems like a pretty odd thing all of a sudden for this to be a requirement dictated by MS.

Pinging Default Gateway timing out, limited internet access
This problem began on Friday and has become stranger and stranger.
At my company we have two Hyper-V Servers which each host a Domain Controller. All of a sudden these DC's lost the ability to ping certain addresses. Most importantly the internet. They can ping each other and hosts on the network but when pinging their Default Gateway they are receiving time outs. When the pings do connect they are received within <1ms for about three replies then times out. Then again three or four replies and the same.
I have cleared the arp cache and uninstalled and reinstalled the network cards but this problem is carrying on. I have powered off and on the DC's as well as the Switches they are supported by. The problem will be resolved for a short period and then users will begin to randomly lose internet connection. This will then carry on until all users are affected.
The default gateway is on a separate switch to the DC's (this was done today as I originally believed the problem to be the switch) however, this resolved the issue temporarily but then occurred again with the slowly losing internet connection for the office.
Please assist?

Make multiple selection on a list to do another task
Hey guys,
Currently I got two script here. One is List out all the services and the other one is to start or stop the services.
In order to start or stop the services, currently I need to list out all the services first, then only write the services name to another script to start or stop it.
So I was wondering is it still got another way that can combined both of the script so that I can straight make a selection to start/stop the services from the list?

Windows 7 & LogMeIn Hamachi: Complete pc lock up
Ok, so back in June I downloaded minecraft as well as Logmein Hamachi to play with a group of friends. For the first 3-4 days everything was going smoothly, my pc was fine and great. Out of nowhere my PC would randomly lock up freeze, would freeze on the user login, would freeze browsing the web, didnt matter what i was doing, it would freeze but at random intervals. It would freeze for about 3 bootups, work for anywhere from an hour to 2 days, then do it again. So I wiped EVERYTHING I had downloaded, from games, addons, launchers....what ever. After which the pc worked fine, did multiple scans etc etc, then redownloaded everything except LogMeIn Hamachi because i was just busy with another new game and the PC worked fantastic until these past 3 days.....
Now, 2 months later, those same friends asked if I want to play minecraft with them, so I redownloaded Hamachi, played with a buddy on minecraft for a few hours then logged off for the night. The next day while I was playing Arma 2, the pc started to freeze and lockup forcing me to have to do hard reboots, and basically just doing the same thing it was doing 2 months ago. I again uninstalled logmein hamachi and the pc is working fantastic again, just like new. I play with 5 other people and they have never had the problem with hamachi.
Any help would be AWESOME! I have saved the dump files from the crashes, but dont know what to do with them to find out whats wrong so give me a way to upload and i will!

You really should ask this in an SBS forum. Other versions of the OS do not use the connect wizard (so it is a SBS question, not a general networking one).
My guess is that you are still connected to the SBS domain, and you cannot join a second one.

Publish Lync Services!
I have installed Frontend server with IM,Audio and vedio featues on one server (Lync 2010 Standard Edition) and every thing is working fine and i need to pulish the Lync services so i will installed the lync edge server and as far as i know i will need the real IP`s as following...
IP1 for Webcon.external_domain.com ; IP2 for av.external_domain.com and IP 3 for CSWeb.external_domain.com which will using by external DNS
N.B: I will create NAT role to redirect the requests from the real ip to internal IP (Edge server) instead of reverse proxy publishing role and i can not put the edge server in DMZ coz of network limitation
and i assume that configure 2 Network card in Edge server (one for internal and one for external)
My question is shall i make the mentioned NAT role to redirect all mentioned real ip`s to internal IP for edge server or there is a something missing??

actually you will need 4 IP s
1. Lync External Web Services 2. Access Edge 3.A\V Edge 3. Web Conference Edge
You need to publish external web services URL in TMG and that should not come to Edge. For other 3 services, it's always better that if you can arrange one to one NAT of Edge Real IP s from the Firewall to Edge's External facing Interface.
