Windows 7 und neue PC Hardware und Probleme MultiProcessor_configuration_not_Supported (German sorry not Speak English good)

Directories and files which can not be deleted
I have installed Windows 7 on a separate drive, just as was suggested by Microsoft.
After reading the numerous reports on how good Windows 7 was, I gave it a try.
But I was disappointed to see only an updated version of the dredged Windows Vista.
Not only an update of Windows Vista, but a bad one as well with spelling errors, etc.
A few days later, I wanted to start Windows 7 again to fulfill my part as a Windows 7 Beta tester, but the Boot Manager found and error and proposed to fix it.
I did follow the suggested fix, but there was absolutely no way to Boot Windows 7.
Booted from the CD and installed the whole thing again.
Ran Windows 7 Beta for a few hours, and went rebooted my PC.
Only to find out that Windows 7 Beta had placed a directory "Boot" on my C-drive with versions of the files in "x" languages and there was absolutely no way to delete it.
Tried everything, and gave up.
I agree that Microsoft wants to restrict access to some files which can be important for the system.
But Microsoft has no right to impose an user their will and totaly deny access to a file which shouldn't be there in the first place.
If Microsoft allows Viruses and Malware to change infect or change files, the Microsoft should allow the buyer of Windows 7 to cleanup his computer without the need to format the harddisk and install everything again
Disappointed user of Windows

Drag and Drop Not Working Well
When I try to drag an item, doesn't matter what program or what item, e.g., an email, document, etc., I can only drag it a short way, or not at all, before the the mouse "slips" off. This has the disastrous consequence of sometimes dragging the wrong item to folders unknown.
Thank you.

I'm not sure where this problem may be coming from?
What type of mouse device are you using, wireless, wired, trackball, or...?
One thing you can try is to right click the file you are trying to move and select Cut from the popup menu, and then Paste the file in the target folder. Or, you can select Copy and then Paste the file, if you don't want to actually move the file.
Hope this helps.
Thank You for testing Windows 7 Beta

I have a few programs that dont appear to give copy and paste, as well, but so far i've found that (Ctrl+C) Copy, (Ctrl+X) Cut, and (Ctrl+V) Paste all work well.
Old fashioned keyboard commands? Haven't used those since my foot-powered hard drive days. ;)
Will give it a go. Thank you.

I would try another mouse (preferably a wired one) to see if it's the mouse/mouse software that's causing the problem.
Yes, it's not unusual for the microswitch under the mouse button to go "noisy" and generate false clicks or drops. Microsoft mice seem more prone to this than Logitech, for some reason, although I've had to change the microswitch on both makes in my time.
I would try a different mouse before going any further.

Try this link to analyze the memory dump and post the results here: How to read the small memory dump files that Windows creates for debugging
Although this is a Windows XP article, the process is very similar for Vista and Win7.

Connect to TV
I connect the pc to a TV (Samsung Plano wide 100 Hz Digital CRT) using s-video. The video card is GeForce XFX 8500 GT PCI-express. The only screen resolutions I can use are the typical 800x600, 1024x768 not the wide, and the refresh rate is 29 and 30 Hz. I had the same problems using Win Vista.
The thing is that in the past, I use the same TV with an older pc using an ATI VE RADEON video card in AGP 4x slot with s-video and Win XP. I could use wide resolutions and refresh rate up to 100 Hz using ATI catalyst.
I am going to buy a new wide LCD TV with VGA in, DVI in, HDMI in etc in the future, but until then?

AHCI
Could this be due to AHCI not being enabled in Win7? How can I find whether it is or not? If I wish to revert to IDE mode without a reinstall how would I do that?

ANN: SQLCLRProject New Home
Anyway, I hosted that project on my Wordpress blog, as well on another server where I kept the downloads. Recently some people have been interested in evolving the project i.e. do some coding. So today I have created a new project on CodePlex for SQLCLRProject. At the moment, I only have the latest binary there - but the source code will be uploaded as soon as I have cleaned it up a bit (removed various silly comments etc.).
So, if you want to play with it, or need it for other reasons, the new home is now: http://www.codeplex.com/sqlclrproject.

Renaming icons on desktop, cannot read font

When I select an icon on the desktop and press F2 to rename it, the font color turns white, on a white background. Can anyone reproduce this?
I don't.
Does the same thing happen when you right click > Rename?
Actually, it appears that these are two different actions. When you click on the title to name/rename it, it actually just lets you name it, instead of renaming it. When you click on Rename on the context menu, it is the old method. I am not sure which I like, but I would rather it be the other way around, or off by default.
+1 for either turning this feature off, or taking it away. I just don't think it is very intuitive. Maybe if we were in a program it makes sense, but this is a system-wide setting, that is very hard to get used to.

Just an update to this bug-report. I have noticed, that you said by using the F2 key. However, it isn't happening like that for me. What I was referring to, that I could reproduce, was when you click on the icon once, and then pause, and click on the name; this is what I thought you were talking about, at first. However, it still is something that needs some work.
BTW, thanks for the new shortcut, :)...

Well, when I try to rename an object on the desktop, the color of the file name became transparent, instead of black. I guess anyone having a white or near-white background should see this as white-on-white
Actually, I am not so sure that I can reproduce what I said earlier. There is an actual bug, because this is not how it was looking, before. It was appearing like it was actually nothing there, but it appears like the text and background was both white when the bug happens. However, as you can see in this picture, the text in the selected text is not the same color as the background, where when this bug happens, it is all the same color.
Now I am confused...

Network Adapter not found for motherboard LAN port on ABIT IN9 32X-MAX
But still the LAN is not recognized after running the setup.exe with that download for the Nvidia Chipset Driver which is what drives my motherboard's Ethernet port. BTW I do not even see a section in the Windows 7 device manager for Network adapters. There is also no way to say "Install driver or hardware" manually - just "Detect hardware changes" - HELP?

If using the Vista drivers and trying to install them in Vista Compatibility mode doesn't allow for the printer to work then it will require a update from Kodak to get it working in Windows 7.

While there will be two primary versions available the lineup will have six version world-wide.
Windows Home Basic – emerging markets only
Windows Starter Edition – OEM installed for specific hardware types
Windows Home Premium – Retail
Windows Professional – Retail
Windows Ultimate – Retail – includes all features
Windows Enterprise – Corporate only, purchased through LARs or Enterprise Agreements, includes all features
This is a more streamlined product list than XP or VISTA, with three products available to the general public and four products available to companies. While there is a Starter Edition, I believe it will be distributed in small numbers, with most customers opting for Home Premium or Professional.
