workflow approval

Hi I have some problem .i have forms which is filled by some users when they click on submit button it will goes to rspective user and and he or she approve the document that document moved to his higher official .if he rejects the document it moved to the user who fillled the document how can i complete this task plz help me

You cannot get this functionality by OOTB Workflows. Use either SharePoint Designer Tool or Design custom workflows using Visual Studio. I will prefer u to use Visual studio as it provides great flexibility.

SharePoint designer is not good as it fails in sending mails dynamically. But if u want mails to go statically( I mean u r providing the email addresses at design time not at run time) then u can use SharePoint Designer. It will be easier for your mentioned requirements.

I personally use TechSmith's camtasia software for this. I have a dual monitor display. I setup the MSTSC session or RSAT tool on the second monitor and use camtasia to record my work on that monitor.

HyperV with Quadcore?

Good evening,

I have a server with 2 Quadcores and Windows 2008EE. In the configuration of the VMs I can only give them as much 4cores and not 6 or 8, although that is excessive. It can perform in any way?, Or HyperV that is not designed to accommodate 8 cores.

You may only allocate 4 cores to a Hyper-V virtual machine. Maybe that limit will be raised in a future version, but that is the limit for now. There are no announcements from Microsoft about a possible increase in the limit.

That will work. It's important to understand there isn't any processor affinity. You aren't assigning the cores from a specific processor to a specific vm.

You have 8 cores total. You could, for example, assign 4 cores to each of 4 virtual machines. In this example, you have 16 cores allocated to virtual machines. That means you'd be sharing cores among virtual machines.

Personally my take on this is

1) if you have an application that REALLY needs more than 4 cpu cores to function effectively, it is most likely NOT a candiddate for running in a virtual environment.

2) when allocating cores to VM's, you really should be asking yourself if the intended application needs that much cpu capacity.. Do the apps that VM will be running have good enough thread management to take advantage of any more than a single processor? Or will they generate the kind of processor loading that justifies running them on a multi-processor system?

For example if I'm creating a machine to run things like DHCP+DNS it isn't likely to need any more than a single processor core, and for that mattter minimal ram.

Windows Error recovery

After installing the July updates on a Asus G1S laptop ( core 2 @ 2.2, 2gb ram Vista home premium) It gave me the " restart to finish installing" screen. After restarting i get the Windows Error recovey. Launch startup repair simply refreshes the screen, And start windows Normally turns the doorstop off, back on and into the same screeen. B**T B*y said it needs a fresh boot... Just another reason to back to Xp PRo or Mac.. i am not going to miss Vista when its replaced

honestly i have absolutley no idea what happened... i took it to best buy where i purchased it.. 2months later they give me store credit for a new one.. took them 8 weeks to figure out they cant fix it.. was not happy about that... from what i heard asus laptops have a history of hard drive failures.. anyways.. now its gateway.. still have vista.. but im sure it will only be around for a few more years before a far worse OS comes out...

Well, I dont know what the exact issue was, but I pulled out the drive and plugged it into my PC (via sata to usb cable) and ran a full scandisk on it. After that ran, nothing seemed to change, so I reinstalled it in the laptop. After a little research, I came across a util called "Vista Recovery Tool". I burned that and booted the laptop with it. At first it didnt seem to do anything but beep incessantly. After two attempts, I let it go to the Error screen again and chose to boot windows normally - it booted?!!? I rebooted the laptop a few times and it booted successfully each time.

You said you got another laptop but in the unlikely event it ever happened again, some food for thought.

PS - I have learned that Best Buy (at least the one near me) doesnt exactly employ competent techs for their "Geek Squad". They ARE geeks, but not so technical...

I have been trying to use a tutorial online for my college course, but I seem to keep getting the following error message:

I run reports off the web but the info that it gives me is wrong. don't see a way I can just click what is wrong and change it. I look under users for a specific computer and it gives the wrong computer name how can I change it to the right one? Thank you
