W10 forcing update to faulty trackpad driver
I have a relatively new Dell (6mo) laptop and have been running Windows 10 as the main OS for a couple of months. A couple of updates ago the Synaptics touchpad driver was updated and my curser started hanging and behaving erratic. I rolled back to the previous driver and all works well. But windows update is insisting that I install the driver that doesn't work.
Any suggestions as to how to fix this - I would prefer not to go back to 8.1.

Hi, today about 10 minutes ago I was not able to access my inbox. It was locking all over. After 10 minutes I dont know why I tried Google Chrome. Bang it works ok. What?
What is going on with Microsoft really? I have been a Microsoft supporter since windows 3.1. And after the greatest operating system ever , windows 95, I always recommended my people (5000+ computers I am/was maintaining) to use nothing but Microsoft software. But in previous years strange things happened.
Did you ever see office 2003 lock up? I didnt. Office 2007 ? A few times. But Office 2010 and 2013 ? I couldnt count.
In all my neighbours I am the only one using Windows phone. A 930. I installed the beta 10. I endured everything just to help it to be better. The latest built is ok , workable, but for Gods sake I wait 10 seconds for it to search my contacts which are at most 500. To return to main GUI it takes sometime 5 seconds. Why in the hell the GUI part and the phone part of the system is swapped ? Who ever decided to this should be fired. I dont understand how they do such a mistake.
I always wanted people to buy legal sofware and made it compulsory to support them. I am in Turkey and windows is sold at the same price here and US. Now US GDP is 49,641 (2012) but in Turkey it is 7000 or similar. How in the hell the heads in Microsoft do not see this? For gods sake people can successfully live a month with the price of windows 7/8 pro price here.
After the mess of windows 3.1 they have been able to give us windows 95 and server 2003 which were rock solid, cut my workload more than 2/3. Later version were not bad nothing too severe. But windows 8 and now 10? Did you ever reinstall windows 8 from the orijinal media? God, it installs 1GB of updates first, then reboot, install another 800 gb , reboot, another , another. God it is frusturating. After 3-4 months in general your windows folder is near 30 gb. This prevents me from using 30 gb ssds which are perfectly ok if just microsoft got rid of installation cache. NO. Please shoot this person who decided this installation system out. It doesnt deserve his salary.
I convince my customers to install SSDs on every computer. For desktops everything works ok. You can reactivte windows no problem. But the notebooks that came with preinstalled 8 and 8.1? Those that have their code installed in BIOS. God help you.
To counter act installation stupidity I always use updated isos. But those with windows SL do not boot with the updated isos. (Some do some dont depending on the manufacturer ) But those that implement Microsoft Secure Boot do not. If you disable it you just cannot access to your legitimate paid for OS. God what is this? You are torturing legitimate customers in order to prevent pirate copies. Do people who use pirate copies buy your software? No they still use pirated copies. So what did you achive by torturing your legit customers? Nothing. Way to go.
I am also a software developer and building IOS apps together with windows and android apps. So I bought a Macbook pro. I can use it for 13 hours at battery. (You cannot build IOS apps without OSX (sort of)). I also installed my Windows in the same machine via bootcamp. The same machine runs 13 hours with OSX but can only run 4.5 hours with windows. Guess what I have done. I uninstalled it and installed vmware fusion and run windows as guest. Bang it works 12-13 hours in the VM. Can someone explain this please. 1-2 hours difference would be ok but his is not acceptable. I feel betrayed.
Office 365 and generally azure are near perfect. I personally made 100s of people buy office 365. It is just the way it should be. But i still wait for those people to be able to share their folders between different accounts. Why in the hell it is not implemented ? This is the most important shortage of this service. You can share documents but not folders. Frusturating really.
Sorry for the tone of this post. I am and will always be microsoft supporter. But please Mr Gates, return back to Microsoft and sort it out. Your company needs new tires, they are slipping.

I've used MS products since DOS.
Nowadays the applications are more advanced than previously.
However in my opinion MS has always sent out software and uses the end customer to sort out issues with it. Which is why so many updates occur with MS products I suspect.
In the old days some updates would occur. Nowadays it seems a never ending supply of updates are available on a daily basis. I suspect my old Win 7 64 bit OS has enough updates to increase its size by a half since I bought the PC it was preinstalled on.
And since applications are so more advanced nowadays then there's alot more that can go wrong with them. I try not to use an MS product until it is at least 2 years old. By then most problems have been provided as bug reports to MS and MS either fixes them or not. But even if you buy a product at least 2 years old plan on seeing significant updates for it over the life you use it. Since MS will be receiving bug reports from end users and companies over the life of the product. Including security updates of course.
It seems to me nowadays MS is more into getting the product out the door than testing to a level they should be testing to prior to releasing a product.
Regard MS Phone. Apple and Android (Android %51 share) own about 96% or greater of the market for smartphones OS's. One reason not to purchase a phone with MS OS on it.

1.To do this type in gpedit.msc in Start Search menu and hit the Enter Key.
2.Navigate to Computer Configuration -> Administrative Templates -> Windows Components -> Windows Update.
3.Double click on "Configure Automatic Updates" option.
4.Choose 'Enable' option and then choose "Allow local admin to choose setting".

CI process for Cloud Service deployment with multiple worker roles

I have an issue I need some help with, and it all goes back to trying to implement a CI/CD process, using Jenkins, for a stack that is entirely hosted on Azure.
Specifically, I am currently working on trying to set up a CI/CD process for a Cloud Service. Considering that I am trying to do this via Jenkins (NOT Visual Studio online, or even manually using the Visual Studio IDE), I am fully aware that this is likely to need to happen via PowerShell. I am not very acquainted with PowerShell, and am very much digging around for help, and not finding a lot that can help me. Partially because I know there are newer versions of Azure cmdlets, and partially because every example I can find online for PowerShell scripts to deploy to Azure for Cloud Services has 0-1 web roles, and exactly 1 worker role.
The issue is that my particular Cloud Service I am attempting to deploy has 0 web roles, but TWO worker roles, and nothing I've found online has addressed that. I am desperate for help getting a PowerShell script together that can be run from Jenkins and deploys both worker roles.
There's an additional slight kink I'd like to bring up in case anyone can shed some light here. One of the things this cloud service does is accesses a Service Bus queue. I know ideally, the process for my CI deployment would be that it deploys to the Staging slot and then swaps Prod and Staging so that it doesn't kill what worked before, in case we need to swap back manually. However, the config values that get promoted with the cloud services code essentially accesses the queue I mentioned above, and we're concerned that after deploying and activating on the Staging slot, it will start pulling from the queue and essentially share it. Obviously, this is not ideal, and we're wondering what types of config (and how to set it up) can be used that I can deploy a staging slot instance that doesn't share the queue with prod, but accesses a different, staging-only queue.
Not sure if I've explained that last bit well enough, but for the moment, I'm most concerned with just literally getting the PS script written for deployment, so please focus there first.
I am a total PS newbie, so please don't assume I know much of anything. Any and all help is GREATLY appreciated!

Regarding your other question about Service Bus and not reading from it when in Stating. One solution is to check in code if you are running in stating or production. This could be done with the RoleEnvironment Class.

VMNetworkAdapter and port mirroring
Hi,
I have 2 VM connecter on the same virtual switch.
For the First VM, network adapter is configured with "–PortMirroring Source" parameter
For the Second network adapter is configured with "–PortMirroring Destination" parameter
On the second, i have installed Netmon 3.4. When i monitor trafic, i cna't see any packet from VM 1.
What is the mistake ??

I'm using an Hyper-V on Windows server 2012 build 8400.
On this Hyper-V, i have 2 VM running Windows 8 Release preview. On the VM1, i have configured network card with mirroring mode set to SOURCE.
On the second VM i have set network card with mirroring mode set to DESTINATION.
Now, i have installed on this second VM Network monitor 3.4.
If i ping VM1, i should be able to see network traffic fom VM1: but nothing... i see only VM2 traffic...

I have the same results with it not working. I've seen no documentation covering this feature yet, so odds of there being additional requirements will not surprise me.
Has anyone seen documentation, lab, or video anywhere that covers this subject yet?
I had been wondering if it required the Microsoft NDIS Capture switch extension enabled on the virtual switch within the Virtual Switch Manager, but for me, enabling Microsoft NDIS Capture results in: "The selected extension is not operating correctly. Check the event logs for further information". Checking the all the event log sections, I find no errors related to Hyper-V, NDIS, or networking in general. So far haven't spotted any information events worthwhile either. I've found only minor information about what this extension is supposed to do, but no real documentation on it either.
Also, the white paper PDF linked by Tiger Li no longer works, so I haven't read it. I've gotten a lot of documentation via the download center, but I don't know if that PDF is one of them.

I've pretty sure I read that Microsoft removed the "F8" feature in Windows 8 and Windows Server 2012. In any case, I did try "F8" a couple of times on WSE2012, pressing and releasing it numerous times during the boot process, starting well before Windows started to load -- and it did NOT do anything.
I also was amazed that the system would not boot from the WSE2012 installation disk from either of my DVD drives nor from a bootable USB drive containing the install files. Until this incident, I never had a problem booting from a "bootable" DVD or USB drive on that server. It is also very easy to bring up the "Boot Menu" from my ASUS UEFI BIOS during the boot from which I can select precisely what boot device I want to use.
As I explained in detail in my earlier post on this forum, the only way I was able to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen was by swapping SATA ports for my system disk which "somehow" caused the next boot to automatically start "Auto-Recovery" mode which finally allowed me to get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen and recover the system files from an earlier date. After doing this, the system rebooted without issues. After booting, I ran a set of backups after using Windows Update. Then, I powered down,"unswapped" the SATA ports and rebooted. No problems.
This was all very weird and frustrating. I still cannot believe that there is apparently no way to "directly" get to the "Advanced Startup Options" screen during a hard boot. If there was, recovery would have been simple instead of several days of frustration with a "dead" home server.

Hello, i´m testing win 10 actually newest build 10240
Issue 1: When loading to take quite a bit longer than with Win 7 when I see the Windows logo I have to wait a while then displays a black screen to which nothing happens then when i see finally Welcome So again must wait. Boot time in win7 is much faster than this.
Issue 2: I was surprised after installation windows i saw that automatic updates for graphics driver and for the sound card have been installed. This is ok. But for my graphics card support already ended in 2013, I can see the driver is issued in January 2015 signed a Publisher ATI (AMD). So I do not know if they decide to again supporting my card when the page AMD 2013 It is practically unrealistic.
Issue 3: This problem though might belong to the problem 2. It's also about drivers. Windows can not find a driver for the mass storage controller. But Win 7 can download and install automatically .. I'm used to install manually drivers. But win10 can not find a driver for IrDA Win 7 knows this. Although I have older piece (notebook)
Issue 4: I downloaded the Czech iso win 10 and when i install additional language pack slovak (slovenčina) This creates also a mix between Czech and Slovak means to have something written in slovak and something in czech I noticed today I downloaded updates: One is Lang Pack for language features - Basic functions On Demand for X86 [en-US] i think slightly improves slovak translation. I got only one slovak update but us 3. While I received next updatese US I received 3 - Lang Pack for language features - features TTS On Demand for X86 [en-us], Lang package (language functions - OCR) Feature On Demand for x86 [en-us] , lang package (Language Feature Speech) function On Demand for x86 [en-us]
So it is there such a possibility that the Slovak language will continuously improve with Updates when i obtain next updates?

The slow boot experience might be caused by the old hardwares. Windows 10 boot would use more resources than Windows 7.
For the video drivers, it seems to be that AMD is applying the update to the model series.

I had win8 and no problems... boot has been extra fast.
Afaik when i have run win 7 without any problems the i will able to run win8.... when i have win8 then i able to run win10 etc...
My notebook is old from 2008 year but still good. 2 GB of RAM is for me still good no more needed also 2 cores of intel core 2 duo 1,6 GHz works great in win7 or 8.
Maybe it helps i install win10 without formating disk because i have my data here, backup will be take a long time.
I have used 109 GB with win10 and 40 GB free.
And i obtain today next (2nd) update for touchpad driver but scrolling again does not work. New versions coming but not working.. Who the hell approve release this driver which does not work?

There is no way you can use the following options.
- SPUtility.SendEmail - doesn't work in sandbox solutions.
- System.Net.Mail.SmtpClient - works with SharePoint 2013 On-premises sandbox solution but does not work with SharePoint Online sandbox solution.
Only option left is SharePoint Designer Workflow. You need to create the list which stores your contact information. Whenever new item added to the list, workflow will be triggered and workflow will send a mail to the users.

You have to use the SharePoint 2010 type workflow to send the mail to the external user.
Use the steps mentioned in the workflow screenshot.
I have tested both the type of workflows (SharePoint 2010 and SharePoint 2013), SharePoint 2010 type workflows works as expected, here is the sample mail sent to my email. Please check your junk mail as well if not found in Inbox.
SharePoint 2013 type workflows check the users from the User Profile. Please refer to the following article which has explained why SharePoint 2013 type Designer workflow will not able to send the email to the external users.

You can use Contact Request Form app from SharePoint store for your requirement, which allows to get data from anonymous users. You can customize the app list as required, play with it a bit you will be able to figure out.

Simple answer - Anonymous user don't have profile. You can not really use workflow (which looks up to profile service for user information) for sending email.
My suggestion - based on the input you receive from user (as you mentioned in your question that you take email address from user), pass the values to web service or a custom on-premises solution which can send email.

Windows 10 DPI scaling options (133% and 188%)
Why Windows 10 not have necessary DPI scales, such as 188% (150% * 125%, need for Lenovo Thinkpad 8) and 133% (200% / 150%, this scale have Android)?
I don't want 200% DPI scale, I want less, like HD tablets (i.e. 125%). Or I want have 133% on HD tablets (like 200% in Full HD). I want equalize DPI scales in HD and Full HD 8 (and probably bigger) inch tablets (100% and 150% multiplied by X). As I know 200% for full HD (1920x1200) and 133% for HD (1280x800) can cause some problems, but with scale 188% in Full HD have not these problems. Also 23 inch monitors with resolution 2560x1440 and 2560x1600 also need scale 133%.
I beg to add support 133% and 188% for multi-monitor configurations.

IE 11
Probably not the right forum, but I didn't know where else to start - if incorrect, any direction would be appreciated.
Trying to load IE11 on Windows 7. My exisitng IE has become corrupted and does not appear on the task bar. I have attempted turning the IE 11 feature on and off in the control panel window. Whenever I try to run the "IE11-Windows6.1-x64-en-us.exe" file it says it cannot load because a later version of Internet explorer is present (?!?). Is there anyway to clean the old IE version out and install 11 (or any version for that matter)? I'm not comfortable enough to play with a registry without some guidance and not sure I want to open a pay to play accound without going to the community first.
ADFS 2.0 farm setup in two different data-center with two different subnet
Hi Team,
I have scenario where I have to deploy the ADFS 2.0 Farm with SQL database back-end in two different datacenter which is having different subnet. In case first data-center goes down ADFS will still be working.
Questions and doubts are:
1) Is ADFS 2.0 Farm support in different datacenter, Can possible to extend to multiple datacenter ?
2) Can ADFS Farm have one node in one subnet other node in different subnet ?
3) In different subnet scenario, SQL Database will be accessed by both the nodes ?
4) In case for DR scenario if we Mirror database and one node ADFS instance is available in DR site how to bring that node online ? or how to make it work ?

WINDOWS 10 OEM
I upgraded my Windows 8.1 Main PC to Windows 10 Pro. - seems a bug exists that won't let me reply to e-mails that has original content imbedded in the reply when using e-mail service from many of those that I have. (MSN Premium and Outlook.com crash) Also can't do a cut and paste, which when done Ctrl-V crashes the application I was pasting the object in. I have a windows 10 pro version OEM RTM so it's the real deal from Microsoft. Looks promising however I had to go back to windows 8.1 until they fix just these issues and I'm sure others will discover other problems on the official release date this coming week.
On the Windows 10 install I save all the programs and files put to the new OS, However Norton's Security Suite has to be reinstalled. Acronis Backup already had an upgrade once the Windows 10 booted up. Looks promising.

Store app error code 0x80190190 this is what I get,well the message was different the other days, I just made the latest updates. Now I get the old error again after windows update installed the latest security patch: "The server stumbled, we all have bad days. Refresh Page. The error code is 1, in case you need it". I think the windows store can't communicate with the server but I don't know why. I don't have any additional security software installed only windows defender so nothing should block the store from reaching the server. Any thoughts on this error?

I had the same thought as colakid and I have risen this in consumer security forum.. But the answer was due to below policy and other legal facts Microsoft security products will not remove PUP's.

Hello ladies and gentlemen. I am a newbie and currently in the final weeks of a Windows Server 2012 r2 class and the book I am using is the Microsoft Official Academic Course book, Exam 70-410. While this might be a good book for most, it simply is not working for me. The class does the labs using VM's with and Win8 VM for the client. I also put together an actual server on my own built from an old Dell Precision with 16 gigs of ram running Win 2012 r2 Standard. It seems to be running very well and before the class is over, I would like to use this for a home server. In this context, the MS book is falling a little short. Could someone please recommend a GREAT BOOK that will help get me up and running.
My main focus right now is to get server manager working on my laptop. This should allow me to login to my home server and finish the class on my own system without fooling around with VM's that will essentially be useless when the class is over.

Mark Minasi has been authoring books on Windows Server for years - Mastering Windows Server 2012 R2 is the latest. He has a very easy to understand style of writing.
And don't forget TechNet. Basically everything about Windows Server is documented there.
Microsoft also have their Virtual Academy - microsoftvirtualacademy.com. Great place to take series of short courses on different topics.

can't receive E-mails from outside organization
dear sir;
we have an exchange server 2010 install on windows 2008R2 in our company with MB Role, CAS Role and Hub Transport Role, that install and working before 3years ago very well,
before one week ago we faced issue the some time we can't receive any emails from outside our domain and when i restart the server everything back to live and exchage working again for all the day and then return can't receive email from outside.
i check our MX record and it is work, check the the sender connector and it is setup and working, check the storage available there are 40GB free space on the DB driver, check the queue it is normal.
so can you support me because we didn't find any solution for this action specially that this issue appear in different time and suddenly.
we use Kaspersky anti-spam on the server and Kaspersky ant-virus to protect our organization.

i already made this solution, and not just disable i uninstalled the anti-spam and anti-virus but didn't fixed it
and after that i install the latest version of the anti-spam to find that the server in the normal time receive 75% of mails as spam.

Figured as much. Just thinking of maybe a spam flood hitting the filter and hosing your hub connector. Next time it happens I would try just restarting the exchange transport service. Is exchange all that is installed on this server? anything showing up in the event logs when issue occurs. ie. other server services, diagnostics, backups
